Overview
HandyPal is a web-based handyman marketplace designed to connect customers with trusted professionals for various home-related tasks. The platform simplifies the process of finding skilled help by allowing users to discover services, compare providers, schedule jobs, make payments, and share reviews all within one seamless experience. The platform serves two primary user groups: customers looking for reliable home services and handymen seeking a structured way to manage their services, bookings, and customer relationships.
The Challenge
Finding reliable help for home repairs and maintenance can often be challenging. Customers typically rely on personal recommendations, informal searches, or multiple platforms to locate someone with the right skills, availability, and credibility. This creates uncertainty around service quality, pricing, communication, and reliability. On the other hand, many handymen struggle to consistently find customers, showcase their skills, manage incoming requests, and maintain professional relationships without a dedicated platform.

Learnings
Designing HandyPal taught me that a marketplace needs to work for both sides of every booking. Customers need enough information to choose a professional with confidence, while handymen need a clear way to manage requests and services. Bringing those needs together helped me focus on simple steps, useful details, and clear actions throughout the experience.
